Real cute baby grandson.Looks like you will have to wait a tad before giving him a fish pole.Enjoy him while you can.Looks like he had a hard night helping Santa deliver all those gifts.

Thanks for all the replies.I'm thinking at about 3 years old is when I've started taking them all out. There is a campground near here that has a fishing pond full of small crappie, bluegills, and a few cats. Its a nice safe spot to take the little ones and they can catch all the bluegills they desire. As a bonus,it has a pool,playground,putt-putt course, paddle boats,etc...so they don't get to bored.

My oldest is 10 and this is the first year I've taken him on a serious cat trip.Didn't work out to well as they were slow biting and he was ready to go after a few hours.Oh,well.He will get the patience thing down when he is older.

Good lookin youngun there cook. I only have two myself both girls.
Don't know if I could afford any more :D
My youngest has one on the way.
The oldest is nine and she already fishes with me and baits her own hook and ties her own hooks.
Like you I started her out on brim and easy catch but she will sit as long as need be to catch a big one.
    Gotta love those grandkids :)
