Personal best Silver King, 110 pounds

    I know it's not a catfish but I'm still proud of it. Went with a buddy and we hooked 4 tarpon from 100 to 140 pounds. I got this one close enough to grab the leader and make it a legal catch. It was right at 5 feet long and weight was estimated at 110 to 120 pounds. A;so put a 32 pound Cobia in the cooler. The Tarpon was released unharmed....

    Cobia is right up there with Grouper for me as far as eating. Only caught 1 Tarpon much smaller than that one but very exciting for a yankee.

    Yes, I popped a scale, damn near big as a silver dollar...... Gotta love it,,
    Hey, catfish Kenny.. I am going out Sunday and if weather permits gonna take the kayak and see if I can handle one of those bigboys in the Yak,,, problem is , that is Bull and Tiger shark water,,, If I don't post after next week... ouch

    I now where Yulee is. How far north do Tarpon go?

    I think Tarpon get as far north as the Carolinas, don't know for sure.. I know we have tons of them here in NE Florida all summer, lots of them in the 150 pound range with 180-190 pounders not rare.
