Went out tonight from 7 to 2 on the Middle Neuse and within an hour of getting set up I had this come see me. It weighed in at 48 pounds, and is the biggest so far for me this season.

Nice fish man! However, I think I'm gonna have to give some photo taking tutorials on how to SMILE in a picture:smile2: Shoot that's a big fish, ya don't want to look like you're upset you caught a hawg!!

I guess when you fight in a 48 pound fish wrapped up in a 25 pound anchor, and then have to try and take picture of your self with a tripod because you are fishing by yourself. You really are not in a mood to smile. If it wasn't for Brent coming up there to take a picture of it for me you would have noticed a big difference in the photo for sure.:eek:oooh:

Yeah man, this fish must have known I was by myself. It bit in the main river channel and ran under the boat. To keep from getting cut off on the lower unit, I had to let it loop my anchor rope while I trimmed the engine up. I would have to say due to me being out there alone this was one of the best fights I have ever had with a fish.

I actually meant for this thread to be for anyone to post there biggest river cats for this year, or maybe a link from there own post, just for a central thread for all of us to see how the fish are this year. You all are more than welcome to if you like.

I'm just messing with ya man:smile2: I do really like the idea of this thread, see what kind of big fish have been brought in this year. My best is a 30lb flathead caught in Feb I believe.

I've caught bigger flats in my bathtub, lol. Wish I could have been there man. Hopefully next time we will slay them together so you can take the picture of my PB which by the way currently stands at 49 for a flat lol.

That boat has more slime on the carpet than all the cats in the river combined.

Yeah, it has had a few visiters contribute to the slime.

Went out Thursday night, and all though it is no where close to the biggest blue that I have caught, this is the biggest so far this year. I also caught a 33 pound flat, and a 12 pound channel cat.
