Went to Perry again yesterday and caught 6 fish.
Biggest was about 4lb but lost a real nice one at the net.
Fished the rock creek area and started 1st in about 2' of water but found no action.
Most action was in 8-10' water on shadgut.
Caught about a 10lb carp on nightcrawler good fight.
Again the bite went dead about noon.

CJ..same here we caught eaters everywhere we went but our biggest was only 4 1/2lbs.
My partner had a good run fishing by some wood structure in 3' of water that got him tangled up.We seen him roll and i would of guessed him over 15lbs.

Most good bites were in 3-4' of water on the windy side in the brush and stumps.Ever piece of exposed structure seem to have cats by it.
Best bait was shrimp soaked in dead red blood spray..(this stuff works) I wont go with-out it. By the end of the day every pole had it on for bait.

Got some pic but I got my camera wet and trying to dry it off...(Long Story) exspence lesson.

    JJ Great pic and CPR

No problem where its posted JJ, it's still all about fishing and having fun.

fished perry today. water was pretty clean overall, not a lot of mud in it. temp on the boat showed about 50. was pretty cool, windy morning, and the bite was slow. Put in at old town and went north to the island and fished the west side. managed four fish 3 eaters and 1 went 8 lbs. used fresh shad which were not under the bridge in any good numbers and liver. Liver seemed to be the better bait today.

Thanks for the report James and pic.
Its the S**** to still have to be in coveralls and stocking hats in late April.

Was you in the river on the west side or still in the flats? When the water warms up just a little them fish will go crazy up there.

JJ are they letting any water out at Perry?

Yes, I thought it was still pretty cool, and the sun didnt come out very fast to warm me up. I fished the flats with no luck. after an hour without even seeing a fish splash, i moved to the river and found some that would bite. in the afternoon, I did see some carp moving around in the flats and I tried a flat right below those houses, but did not get any bites. I remembered you saying the bite stopped last week at noon, so I gave it up about 2pm. I caught my fish between 9-10.

sounds like rain off and on all this week and cool. maybe someday I will be able to fish without coveralls? at least it wasnt snowing!

THank you for the info and the fish that you caught looks like your having a good time so far, glad to hear your doing good and I wish you many more fish throughout the year I think this is going to be one of the best years for fishing in a while.
