I recently bought two of these's monsters. Do you think these rods are too accessive for big catfish. On the rod it had an image of three salt water fish. I'm inetrested in catching monster flatheads. just need to know if those rods are a bit much.

Don't know which ones you got 7ft or 6.6 but I fish with 14 of them. They look like pool cues but are surprisingly flexible at the tip. There have been times when I wished I DID have a pool cue when trying to keep a large fish out of the timber at Santee.I think you will find they are just fine for large flatheads.I use the 7 ft spinning version.:smile2:

I've got a casting model set up for flatheads with a 320GT2 reel. So far I like it a lot.
