    Hello

I need some help with the purchase process

New this year Penn has come out with the Penn Slammer Live Liner 460L & 560L. It is a updated version of the 4600L&5600L models.

I'm interested in the 460L and would like to get some feedback, good-bad & ugly I'll take it all.

    Penn Slammer Live Liner Series
Slammer® Live Liner® Same great features as the Penn Slammer®, but with the added benefit of a Live Liner® drag, ideal for swimming live baits. The Penn Live Liner® is the perfect reel for anglers who prefer the ease of a spinning reel, but the practicality of a conventional reel. The Live Liner® drag can be adjusted to control the drag tension, allowing anglers to fish various sized baits and maintain control over the bait, an essential factor when live-lining for various gamefish such as Striped Bass, Sailfish, Roosterfish, or Snook

    Penn Leveline® wrap system
    Techno-Balanced™ Rotor
Five Stainless Steel Ball Bearings plus one Infinite Anti-Reverse Roller Bearing
    Silky-Smooth operation
    Oversized shielded Drag
    Full Metal Body
    Triple-Supported, Oversized Main Shaft

Just got off the phone with Penn. They said that the new 460L & 560L are over China getting retooled for manufacturing and will not be out till 2007.
Also Penn said that the other Live Liners have been out for years.

There is a local dealer selling them on his web site, I dont know how he is doing that since they arent out yet??

    Thanks

    Gregg

I have the captiva live liner, love it.... the only problem with the spinning reel bait alerts is that they are not very loud, but matched with a bell on the end of your rod they are deadly, GO PENN!!!!!

yes spinning reels, i got my 560 L for 125.00 from a small local shop.

after using them and the shimano baitrunners, i'm hooked i really like the secondary drags.

i set the baitrunner drag very light and let the fish bite and run. then wham, lock it down to the main drag and haul them in!
