My Lexa 400 cc will remain the favorite low-profile baitcaster...like the looks of the Penn but I am sure they had their reasons for no bait clicker.

For a pure casting reel...it will be excellent for casting big baits for stripers and muskies.

I have been looking for a new bumping reel, dont need a clicker for that. I would like to see the line cap. for them before deciding though.

My vote still goes to the Tekota 600HG. Great line cap, clicker, and power handle out of the box.
The Penn sure looks nice though. I'm also curious about it's line cap, and whether a power handle is an option.

I saw that, I wonder how it differs from the Abu Revo Toro Beast besides paint job.

I suspect the two are the same reel under the hood. That said, the Revo Toro Beast is the smoothest and most refined big low pro reel I have ever touched. The Penn should be the same.

A low profile baitcaster typically has a very large main gear which equals more drag surface which improves drag smoothness, power, and longevity.

They are made in Korea, in the same plant that makes the Abu Revo reels.. no clicker on either

Why do the 300s have more drag then the 400s lol

Sometimes the lessor capacity reel has a narrower frame and spool but the same drag plates. I believe a 5500 Abu has more potential drag than a 6500 Abu because the spool axle bends and the spool rides the frame.

I’m never gonna get to retire...I can’t get enough fishing equipment it seems, and I thought deer hunting was expensive!
