it's been over a year now and i must say my penn captiva live liner 4000 has performed better than expected. for $70 i got a super smooth reel with a great drag.paired with a 7' zebco medium rhino rod and 6# test stren, i have caught every thing from carp to steelhead. i really like the bait runner aspect of the reel.

has anybody else used this reel? if so i would like to hear your comments.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Cabela's stopped selling those because of bad customer reviews the mini-drag or baitrunner feature failed on those for a few people just keep your receipt or warranty just in case:wink:

My Dad has 2 of these and really likes them, holding up good for him. They're not the live liner model, just the reg. captiva.

Cabela's website still shows the Captiva LiveLiner for sale, as does Bass Pro Shops. They look like good reels for the price.

Glad you are having good luck with yours...

I use the live liner for ballooning bait hundreds of yards down river with 8oz sinkers and massive bait, the only thing i have noticed is the clicking noise from it is softer but the tension is still holding up great.
