Has anyone used one of these Penns? I have read some reviews from saltwater fisherman that they cast like a large bass reel and make a good distance casting reel.

Not yet, but there's one out there somewhere with my name on it.

I have two of these reels, and I love them. Very easy to cast, excellent bait clicker, and super smooth.

Only thing I did to mine was to put tape over the mag adjustment because it's pretty easy to inadvertently move it while fishing.

    Definitely worth buying.

I use the PENN 525 MAG. It can handle any catfish in the USA.

Tough, cast well, and very dependable.

Like Jeeps, nothing to em, but get the job done!
