The Level Line "Spiral Bar", on my Penn 350, has a tendency to miss a few ratchets, while rotating. This then causes uneven spooling of the line. The teeth on the "Spiral Gear" seem to be in functional shape and the "Spiral Drive Dog" and "Spiral Gear Dog" appear functional. But the mechanism is not working like it should, so something is not right.

Does anyone have experience as to what to look for, or what to replace? I don't believe that the eccentric travel is adjustable, my guess?

    Thanks for your help. Dave

I wish you luck as many new to fishing folk had trouble with these and did not like them.Amateurs or the reel?I don't know.I have never owned one nor have any personal experience with one other than seeing it cussed by amateur fisherman.I could not help them with the reel in front of me.The old hands did not fish with them as they did not use level winds. They shunned them.I am guilty.I wish I could help you.

www.pennparts.com may be able to help you.
