I just purchased a Penn 210 Salmon reel off ebay for $37.50 It is supposed to be very similar to the Penn 209 except for a stronger drag, better bearings and a 4.0:1 gear ratio which is a faster retrieve than the 209. I was wondering if anyone has used them or familiar with them. Any information, good or bad about this model will be appreciated. rspd507

They are the same size as a 209 with bearings instead of bushings and are factory magged to help out a little on backlashing. The bearings will require a little more cleaning and oiling than the bushings.

    How much are they worth?
a friend is trying to sell two of them for $20.00 with old diawa rods.
I didn't buy them because the line pull was stiff.

    James,
I dont really know what those reels are worth, however if they worked they would be worth 20 bucks. Its sounds like the tight line pull may just be lack of grease and oil. Probably just to be taken apart, cleaned and lubed and I bet it would work ok. rspd507
