any body every fish the pecos?
In 1990 when stationed at Fort Bliss I fished the Red Bluff Lake but only once with no success.
I work for a contractor to the US Army today and I am back in El Paso looking to fish somewhere.
Where can I find catfish near El Paso?
Welcome,Chris. The closest I can think of might be Brantly Dam in Carlsbad. Its on the pecos and if memory serves me right, right around 200 miles from you
that would be just 180 for me here in Lubbock.
you try the rio grande near el paso rick
I use to catch a lot of catfish off the Rio Grande just outside of El Paso (Canutillo). I was just a little kid back then and was living in Albuqueque and would go down each summer for about a month and a half to stay with Grandparents and my grandfather and myself would play golf three days a week and fish the other four days. It was great to be a kid back then. We would catch so many catfish (Can't remember how big they were because it was over 20 years ago) They were all channel cats if I memory is right.
I've caught some channels on the Rio Grande near the Vinton bridge or up along the levee around Anthony. The areas near the irrigation canals around Canutillo and Sunland Park are also good spots. Anywhere in the upper valley is good
just stay clear from the border near Juarez!
I would also agree with that.
