Met up with some friends tonight for a couple hours. The river was flowing a bit from the recent rain so we decided to fish close to shore. After the first hour or so, I decided to give it my "desperation" cast. This is when I launch my bait as far as I can. Well, I must have casted it in the right spot. No more than 2 minutes later, I hook into a monster. Fought him to the bank. Official weight 32lbs 8oz!!!!! Onew thing I learned tonight was maybe flathead like currewnt. I"M PSYCHED!!!!!!!!

Water seems to be about a foot above normal according to the USGS site... going out tomorrow night, hopefully he has a hungry brother that is lost in the river

I am a big believer in Catch Photo and Release with my flatheads and I know there are many who are the same. But my question is for those who catch food for the table. What is the biggest flat you have harvested for the table? I am just curious because i personally would feel like I am doing something wrong because of the abundance of eater size channel cats available. I am not going to judge you because everyone has a right to their own thoughts an beliefs. It is just that I have always heard that when it comes to eating flatheads that bigger is usually better. Is this true and what size have you harvested?
