Here is a photo of a channel cat I caught early yesterday morning on about 4 mullet shad on a khale hook using a slip rig on the bottom in about 12 feet of water.
    * My previous was 12 pounds. This one went 13 pounds. He was the only cat I caught on this trip...

    * After a long night of stair'in at my poles, I was too tired to clean him, so he was released after the photo...

Hey nice looking channel cat. With the experience you guys have catching channel and flatheads do you believe this 13#er fought more than a flathead similar size. I am just curious, thanks?

Great catch. That was really a nice channel cat. I was glad to see that you release it so it can bite another day. Thanks for sharing.

Nice Channel Cat. Looks clean too. I caught the weirdest looking and maddest Channel cat the other night. It was beat to hell. Had no whiskers on the bottom jaw. A big whole in the top of its head and beat up from head to tail. It had the head of a huge channel cat but the body was so skinny it was weird. Poor thing was trashed up. Didn't look like disease just beat to hell and starving for some reason. I could not believe the energy and spunk it had for being so F'd up. My Flathead poles were silent all night. Andy, was that you i saw by windy hill saturday
? I'm thinking i have to quit pounding Roosie and try another lake. I haven't done well at all there this year. My best fish all year came from bartlett back in spring.
    Good catch dude!!!! :cool2:

    * I think the big channel cats fight harder than a flathead of similar size, yes.. But the big flatheads are a battle comparable to none...

    Thanks~
She was a nice healthy fish.. I was tempted to keep her and make up some fish tacos for dinner... But sleep was on the menu, and man I was hungry for some of that.
*Was not me.. I was at Bartlet up in the river..
    * I am thinking of hitting up Roosie next weekend for a change of scenery.

Good luck at roosie. I hope you do better there than i have this year. Can't give ya rep. It says i have to spread it around. Couldn't give any to Anthony last week either. I guess i better spread it so i can give some to the AZ people. Have a good one.

I totally agree Andy, A channel cat I caught last year went 14 and it fought harder than the 28.5 flathead I caught the same night. :eek:oooh:
