Patoka Lake in Idiana

    I dont think i have ever been fishing at Patoka Lake. My buddies and i were thinking about gettting a bunch of us together and atke a trip up there. What is the best thing to fish for up there?

    Patoka pretty much has a mixed bag. They have a good population of channel cats. I have never caught anything big there but if you want some for the table you can find them about anywhere. Patoka also has hybrid striped bass. I believe I just saw a picture of one that went over 17 pounds. Also crappie and I heard but have never seen that they have white bass and small mouth. Not sure on these. Bluegills are plentiful but on the small side.

    Find a deepcove about 25ft for big gills. big crappies deep if lucky to find them. Big lake watch the weather it comes over those hills pretty fast sometimes. Get a map of the lake or gps I have had a hard time getting back to the right ramp especially at night. good luck
