I just gotta give a big thanks to someone for sharing the "palomer knot".
I've been using s variation of this knot for a long time, and this knot has
lots of promise. From now on, this is the only knot I will use when real
    strength is needed.

    Again - - THANX !!

Been using the palomar for years with no problems at all.

Just remember to moisten the line before pulling the knot tight or
the friction will weaken the knot.

I use the Polomar for all my swivel setups where I can. I like to snell all my hooks though.

I use the Palomar knot is every situation I can get away with. The Palomar works real well when your using larger diameter monos versus some of the other knots.

Yup, the polamar is about my fav too. It's simple, strong, and can be used in nearly any situation.

Thats good advice. I also noticed that when i pull the line tight, the loop will often get caught on the back side of the eye on the hook. This also will weaken your knot, and it's very hard to see when this happens, so you gotta look close...

I need to learn to tie the palomar knot I've had a few people show me how to do it but i just can't get it down. I snell my hooks and i want to use a palomar on my swivel seems to be the strongest knot for that.

This has always been my go to know. I perfer to snell the hooks and use Palomar for everything else. Never failed me when I tied it correctly.
