I`m giving this a bump to the top so the guys from the east can have a good look at the flathead record before it`s broken again on the three rivers.

The state record for flathead catfish will stay and remain out East until Armegedon!

As stated earlier in another post, non-native flats gorw much, much quicker and at a faster pace than thier native brethren.

We both know that is the truth.

You have to remember that 5 years ago, a new state record only had to be in the low 40s. Now in 2008, a new state record must be at least over 51lbs. It's gonna get harder and harder.

There is no question it will get harder but I think there are record size fish in the Mon, we have had monster fish hooked and lost them.

If you ask me, the western boys have the pressure on them since the east already holds the record.:tounge_out:

I thrive under pressure and all anyone can do is put their time in on the water.

I can't agree more with that statement. Many people see pics of big fish and automatically insinuate that it's easy to catch these monsters. I probably averaged 30 hours of fishing to catch a 25lber. It takes alot of time. But only us can understand that.

Ain`t that the truth, you must fish long hours sometimes to catch trophy size cats.

Yeah man. All of my friends want me to take them to the honey holes, but they don't want to help and put the time in. So when I take those guys I go to a new spot and then they get all balled up when they don't catch much. I just tell them better luck next time:roll_eyes:. I'm going to try to get out tonight. I cought about 8 sunnies and 2 crappie i'm going to use live and I have some trout for cut bait.

I tried tonight and didn't even get a hit.

The scales were still perfect on my cut sunnies.

The weekend's cold front pushed it back a little.
