Figured i'd get the ball rolling on this. haven't been catching any bullheads in the place i've been trying that supposedly has a ton in it. talked to an older fella up there yesterday and he said they have been spawning for a few weeks now. the water is cooler up there so i didn't think they would be yet but at least i know why i haven't been getting them lately. he said the place is polluted with them and when you run into them you'll catch all ya want. i surely hope that turns out to be true.

thanks for starting this b, not sure why the old one got deleted. i'm damn near done with this side job,so think today i'm going to clean my bait tank out. and make a trip down to a honey hole from last year, hope it's still good. figured well the spawn is on i should stock up on bait. so pat where did you say you were catchin bait..LOL :wink:.tight lines justin

I will be leaving for Indiana this weekend to be with my dad who is very sick. My bait tank has about 20 flathead bob-bons in there.

These are the luckiest 20 fish in the world. If I don't get out this week, I will be forced to re-release them into the local creek.:angry:

Good luck guys through the rest of June and July. July may be a tough month, but we will get redemption in August.

hit a spillway i fish on saterday with my brother inlaw and man was i glade i made the drive, just hammered gills,greenies,and the best live bait warmouths. in two hrs i filled up a 5 gallon bucket. and i would even take 10-15 mins smoke break's..lol. my brother in-law caught 1 gill..LOL, here's trying to get back in to fishing again. tight lines justin

gonna try a new to me lake later that is supposed to have a lot of gills and crappies and supposedly suckers as well. we'll see as that would be sweet if i could get a bunch of all 3 from there. i'll let ya know how i do.

well i didn't get any crappies but i got a few gills and about 20 perch. would have had more but they kept swallowing the hook.

im done keeping crappies, they die as soon as you hook them and if i use them cut i always cast them off. never really had much luck with them anyway. tight lines justin

Bullhead are my favorite post spawn bait.Just don't use em in real rocky areas they'll hang you up & hide everytime.I had a hard time getting them last year.I did my home work,this year I got 4 spots that I can get 10 bullheads at each in about a half hour.I even keep acouple little ones,they fatten up fast & keep the tank clean lol.That half eaten gill was alive yesterday,my chester county piranha tore em up.Notice the hole in his lip,he was already put into service once,these things are tough.

I always caught bull heads on livesr but where I catch em they are 12 inchers and fatter then a big ole bull frog, too big for me to use as bait. I never can catch the littler guys though

Bullheads are lively.I just don,t like em around any areas where ya got much cover.If there,s one snag in a 5 ft area they,ll find it.I,ve got nothin against them,I just don,t feel like they,re worth the extra effort to catch em.My personal favorite if and when I can find em is carp 8-12 inches.Oh,and I know their illegal!:quiet::handshake:
