Something you should check out as outdoor enthusiasts !!!!The Peta Group has now set their sights on Fishing. If you want to read some very disturbing ideas of theirs on fishing, go to www.fishinghurts.com it is a peta sight. They will not rest and neither should we. It is up to us to keep the right of fishing and hunting as something to pass on to our future generations. We need not to fall asleep at the wheel as this group is a concern to all outdoorsmans!!!

I understand where you are coming from but I refuse to click on that link or any PETA link and add hits to their site.

I honor your decision but do you think they arent coming in here? When I was in Alaska that group had its cronies put in for draw tags to keep legimate hunters from getting them. I dont care how many hits they have. Keep abreast of your foes movements and you will not be suprised by their attack!!

I feel I know where they stand and what they are up to. I've seen the poster of the dog with a hook in it's mouth and their comic book saying your Daddy is a murderer, because he fishes and murders fish.

I still refuse to inflate their site hits and in return inflate their egos and warped minds.

They are welcome to come in here and read all they want. They might learn something.

And let them post; I'm sure they would get plenty of replys.

Where do these people come from? I was taught to live the way god intended for all of us to live, off the land!! Did you ever hear of an Indian that did not live this way? How about a caveman? We do need to educate these people! They need to know that god created these animals to help keep us alive. It is the basic human instinct. As long as it is done humanly and the animal is used the way it should be there is nothing wrong with it. If there was mother nature would let us all know!

What makes me the maddest is they are allowed to pass out their crap in our schools. They arent wasting anytime or money on our generation. They have zeroed in on our kids to corrupt their minds!!!

I remember back when I was in HS some of those idiots came down to a local lake and started going up to fishermen and slapping paddles in the water around their boat to scare off the fish. Needless to say, after a good fist to the face, they were never seen on that lake again. These people are just idiots looking for something to "belong" to. Anyone who reads that crap and is fooled into believing it is just a weak minded individual. I hope that their rich suburban money isn't enough to persuade the powers that be to ever outlaw things such as fishing and hunting.

I could only stand to read a couple pages of that
garbage. It was as ignorant as everything I've seen and heard from them in the past. They're not ever
going to win the battle against hunters and fishermen. Try as they might. It just is not going to happen. It's too bad that they're not more
concerned about starving humans instead of animals. Hopefully our nations hunters will one day do away with them!

they are in our schools, they apply for jobs in the dnr, they run for office, I remember when people laughed when they wanted to ban trapping on public land in several states out west. And here is what hunters fishermen/women dont understand. We are a minority, they congregate in the metro areas and dictate by court suits. I merely wanted to make people aware of their activities. But as most sportsmen , most have the attitude they will never do that . well go check out ammo prices. They cant get laws passed so a anti is put in charge of osha and now my .223 ammo is 32 bucks a box!!! We are our own worst enemies.

Someone should escort these PETA supporters to a hog or cattle slaughter house, see how humain that is. I can bet that very few PETA supporters are vegitarians, How much of a chance does a penned up cow or pig have, or chickens? Then they need to take them to one of the state or county parks, where there is no hunting allowed, ponds where you can't fish, see how the deer are starving for food, or what happens to them when a disease sets in. Watch the fish in an over stocked pond where the food is limited how stunted they are, forced to eat their own minnows, or grab anything that hits the water, even a piece of paper. This is humain? These creatures were put on this earth for human consumption, that is why we are on the top of the food chain. Thats why we opperate the fishing pole and we have the knowledge to carry a firearm. Thats why we eat them, they don't eat us. Besides that, you can bet if a human fell in the ocean a PETA shark wouldn't come to our defense. Sorry this PETA stuff gets me going. They have no clue about life.

Actually, alot of PETA folks are VEGANS too. If they had it there way, we wouldn't have livestock, OR PETS. I don't click on their sites either, but if I see any of their propoganda anywhere, I will steal it, then burn it, at the risk of being prosecuted for property damage.

They don't advicate bugs rights because they aren't cute. They also don't consider all the rabbits, mice and other animals that are killed by tractors plowing and harvesting fields of veggies and cotton. When it comes down to it you can starve ,and go nude or you can use your God given right to rule over this earth.Vegan = hypocrite

I didnt intend to start this thread to cause problems I started it to make people aware of what these people are capable of. The sad thing I have learned is that sportsmen are their own worst enemys!!! At a turkey convention I was setting at a table of turkey hunters and mention what peta was trying to do to the trappers, my guest at table said well we dont trap so we dont care. That is my point. Does anyone possible think they will stop with the trappers? Hunters? Fishermen?. They will also go after the farmers or anyone involved with animals. As fishermen they biggest area of concern is the tourneys this could be archilles heel that peta or other anti groups will get public sympathy on. A tournment director recently told me that not only did he get negative feedback from the antis but also from local people including fishermen for the activity on the water by contestants. (runnning the lake at 50mph, throwing trash in lake, etc.) No this thread wasnt started ,other than to make us aware and hopefully one day unite all outdoor enthusiasts to join forces against a force that is growing daily.

PETA is on the far left fringes of the animal rights movement. Their actions are downright criminal in many instances. There was this group who was against the Atkins diet years ago, and they supposedly had all these people who claimed to have elevated cholesterol and blood problems after doing Atkins. They traced this "Health Advocacy Group" back to their roots, and guess what, PETA was providing the funding. It was all a ruse, with their main intention of getting people not to eat meat. They're a bunch of nuts and quacks.

I just checked out the site...love this quote from some doctor: "I'd no sooner eat a Grouper than I would a Cocker Spaniel".

You can also get your vegetarian "starter-kit" from the site. Sign up people, the offer doesn't last long. LMAO

Where do these people get off on this propoganda garbage they're spewing to us? People have been eating meat for thousands of years, and NEWS FLASH, we're not gonna stop.

I went to their FAQ page and found this:

    "Didn’t Jesus eat fish?
It’s an interesting question, but Biblical scholars agree that the appropriate question for Christians is, “What should we be eating?” The Bible clearly says that our bodies are temples and that we should take care of them. Yet it’s a fact that all fish flesh today is contaminated with heavy metals and other toxins. In fact, fish flesh is just about the most polluted thing that humans put into their bodies. On that basis alone, Christians should not be eating it."

They never even answered their own FAQ!!!!
    What a bunch of idiots.

    Just for the record...

Luk 24:41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
Luk 24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

Jesus did eat fish, and he was wanting some MEAT!!! Many of the disciples were fisherman when Jesus called them, It makes you wonder why more Christians don't fish...
