    Anyone interested in a really informal overnight gathering in mid April at Summit Lake? I'm getting ants in my pants.:smile2:

    I have only been there once but I was like 10. Seemed like a huge lake to me, but when your ten I guess everything seems bigger than what it really is!

    I would be interested in learning more about the lake and doing some fishing up there. Keep me posted.

    Yes it is a little cold at night in April. I know there are some good camping spots by the boat dock that have fire rings. I pulled an all nighter there every weekend in october one year. It got so cold one night I slept in my lawn chair right by the fire and I had a huge fire going. It melted the webbing on my lawn chair to the point that it drooped and by butt was almost on the ground. There were several small holes burnt in to the sleeping bag from sparks flying out of the fire. Maybe pine wasn't a good choice of wood but it was available and free.:crazy:

    Yes! Pine isn't a very good choice of wood period for starting a fire! The sap in Pine is very flammable. Your just lucky you're here to post about your experience!! Yes, April is a good month to kickstart the fishing season, but an all-nighter can be a little frosty. Still a month for inclement weather. Now May sounds better to me!!

    comebacks??:cool2::eek:oooh:

    are the channels cats nice at summit or maybe the walleye? I fish there once last year and didn't have any luck... but only had blood bait with us.
