Outboard Prices

    So I wanted to get some input from you guyz. How much would you pay for a 20hp merc late 70's early 80's in good condition? Any help would be great.

    I certainly wouldn't pay more than 4 or 500 dollars for one esp if it's tiller/manual start. You can find boat/motor/trailer combos for 1000 dollars that the whole package is 10-15yrs newer than what you're talking about. Just look around on Craigslist ect and you can get a good feeling for gonna have to pay for something.

    nada.com, ouch!!! says $70 retail for 1980 model---these are pretty good motors i've had 2 of them. i wouldn't give over $300 and it would have to be really clean.

    wow. i was thinking they would be worth more. I'm buying a new boat in the morning and the guy is throwing in the 20hp with the deal. it comes with a 25 e-start. i'm going to sell the 20 to get some cash for some extras. thanks for the info guyz.
