Outboard motor price

    i know a guy that has a 25hp evinrude (1984) that i can buy and he is going to let me pay him out a little every payday can yall tell me about what it is worth i know i will pay a little more for him leting me pay him out what yall think 700,800,1,000, or what?

    If it has good compression and runs good on the water then If I needed one I would pay 5 to 6 for it.

    5 or 600 sounds like the right price if it runs good, has good compression, no leaks, etc.

    Ask if he will let you take it for a try out. But I won't buy a used engine unless i can try it first. or really trust the prson i am dealing with. You could check ebay or kelly's blue book on boat motors.

    Definitely check it out before you commit to buying it. And by "check it out" I *don't* mean run it wth a garden hose and earmuffs -- get it out on the water and put it through it's paces.
