Gill fishing is fun when you can catch them at least that size.

Caught 14 nice gills between me and my daughter. running out of zip locks...

How do you guys Freeze your fish filets for future frying (hey im a poet)?

Ive heard some freeze them in water, I use a food saver and seal them up but have had a few not seal up good..Any Advise? Or different techniques?

i always freeze mine in salt water bout 1/4 t-spoon to a quart zip lock fill it to cover fish squeeze all the air out zip, turn up side down to check fer leeks before placeing in freezer. salting tends to bleach out any blood i didnt wash off .(my eyes aint the best in the world lol). then when i cook it i dont salt it but i do cornmeal and lemon pepper .

I would love to get a mess of them that size. I place the filets in a gallon ziplock bag and cover them with water. Try to get as much air out as possible and freeze. I haven't tried the vacuum sealer yet.

I fished a private farm pond yesterday for bluegill and although I didn't catch many fish, the ones I caught were all decent size. I caught ten altogether, with everyone running between 8 and 9 inches. Had 9 female and one male. Caught them all on Gulp artificial earthworms.

Nice catch there! I'm gonna head out to the lake this eve and seewhat I can turn up with the fly rod, and then use what I can get for catfishing tonight. Wish me luck. If I can't get the fly rod down I'll resort to my ultralight and some crawlers.

What a nice looking bluegill, fun to catch, fun to eat. I like it when they get so chunky that they get that bump on their forehead.

this might be a stupid question, how do you cook small panfish like bluegills? Fillet them?
