I am putting this in the European section as Russia is also part of Euorpe.

If one gets beyond the Urals, besides wels, and its relative, are there any other catfish species in the area of Russia and the countries that border it to the south?

I know of the Tawny Dragon catfish of the Bagrid family in the Amur basin, but are there any other cold water catfish in that vast area, and has anyone here gone fishing for them?

    Thank you for your time.

it may actually surprise you, but bullhead can be caught in european rivers and lakes even as far as russia. they were introduced in the 1890's and have done ok ever since. They're not native, but they didn't cause too big of a problem either. other than that i can't help you out much. they may have larger cats, but the variety is slimmer. Pike and carp are the main game fish around these parts.
