I shot this guy after jumping him up w/3 does. The does ran from my right to left 50 yards out. Thank god he decided to cut directly away from me. He went to hop the fence and I shot him in the neck with all four feet off the ground. Now I know this is hard to believe. I've shot quite a few deer and only one of them were running when I opened fired with a 30/30 lever action. Shot five times and hit that old doe once. This one here, I had my .270 scope cross hairs on the back of the neck when he jumped and I shot. The bullet grazed the top of his shoulders and went in the back of the neck. Ok, I'm done. Had to brag for a minute. Good luck to all this season, hope you get your personal best as this is mine. Now have 2 on the wall. He's a nice buck for around here. In WV most hunters don't allow them to get old enough to mature. A 3 1/2 year old buck is very old where I hunt.

That's a real nice deer and a great shot. Glad you didn't shoot the rack off like a buddy of mine did with a huge 8 pointer a few years ago. LOL

thats a nice buck. looks like a 10 point outside the ears. what was the spread? 16-18"s?

last night i watched an unrelated movie "evan allmighty" with my wife. the animals were all coming to his ark 2 by 2. when the deer showed up i looked at the buck, and said without thinking, "thats a shooter right there". Amy didnt think it was too funny.

NICE BUCK! He'll look great on the wall. Nice to see I'm not the only one that will "wing shoot" a deer in mid-air, LOL!
