Here's a Picture of One Eye Willy I caught 6-16-07 He was 20lbs with one eye and his jaw was deformed, I say it was an injury from being caught when he was small.

You can probably blame that on a circle hook.

I've blinded dozens of catfish with circle hooks - it's really the only fault I have with them; the bigger hooks (8/0 for instance) will still catch very small fish, but they're a lot more likely to get the hook through the roof of their mouth and out the eye socket...

When I first started fishing for Blues 5-6 years ago, my brother and I caught the same one eye at least 5 times over a two year period. The fish started out about 20 pounds and the last time was 28 on the scale. It was caught in the same spot each time. I haven't caught it in 3-4 years. I hope its still around. It was healthy and scrappy everytime we caught it.

You would think fish like this would eventually quite eating...lol. And i agree it looks like the result of the ole circle but it is good to see it has made it to 20lbs and still swimming hard.

remember catfish are survivors. i have been fishing for bullheads for bait in some heavily fished ponds and caught them with no eyes. nevertheless, they were fat and healthy and made a nice bait for flatheads.
from the looks of 'one eyed willy' there's no problem with his ability to find and eat food. i'd say it just makes him look like more of a bada$$!

Reminds me of that dude from The Goonies (remember that movie?), that dude that would wiggle his ears and go "Baby Ruth?"

id blame that on more than a circle, if it was just an eye yea, id guess he was left on a trout line :0a15:
