How many has heard the old saying "what ever day you get the first snow is how many you'll get that winter"? Sure hope not .That means we would have 30 snows this winter.

This is our first one.Couldn't be lucky enough to be the last:roll_eyes:

Never heard of that but there could be something to it, so many of those other things that are said hold true. And I thought a lot of places would welcome the snow cause they don't get enough rain, and that includes THE GREAT LAKES.

A couple of the tales I have heard down here are:

If it thunders in winter (as it does more often than I would have thought) it will snow within 11 days. While not always true, it does happens most of the time.

However many foggy mornings we have in August will tell how many days of snow we will have that winter.

I've heard that for years, now whether it's exactly true or not I can't say cause I've never really counted. However,I can say this:The Farmers Almanac said we would have a White Thanksgiving in Northwest Missouri, guess what? They just missed it by 3 days. I'd say that's pretty close, while we're not completely snowed in it is white outside. Looks to me like John and I have bout the same amount of snow.

One that I've heard from my grandfather was if it rains on the first day of June, you'll have at least 15 more days of rain in June. I have counted this on 3 different occasions and it was right all 3 times.

Not about snow, which I love too, but an old wives tale just the same I guess.

We got snow this morning :) -- didn't last-- but was great to look at so early on in the upcoming winter season.

we just got our 2nd snow on the ground here, niether have been anything to write home about. im thinking that we will be getting the snow well into March/April. I am orginally from the south and hated the snow. But since having moved to Colorado, I love it but shoveling snow everyday and driving in it, is for the birds. I hate it.

being in Colorado and hating snow is about as useless as being in Florida saying ya hate sand! :smile2: Better just get use to it. :smile2:

The snow looks wonderful, especially with the Christmas decorations! Thank you for sharing.
