Below the broke bridge where Chauga river meets the Tugaloo river is hot right now. Never fished off the bridge but some buddys of mine have caught them there. Drop some live bream or cut bait down around sunset and see what happens!

Stephens County Access a good landing? Is that the best access to the spot? Have your buddies caught anything of substantial size?

yea thats the best ramp for that stretch of river. U can catch stripers in the river all year long, most people think that after the spawn all the stipers move to main lake, most do but not all! As far as catfish i have seen tons of blues in the 8-12lb range come out of that area. Fish the flats on either side of the river with live bream and and u will catch some flatheads. I have caught 2 flatties over 20lbs in the area. U fishin out of a boat?

I do not yet have a depthfinder, but I remember when the lake was so low that only the channel remained. It is definitely flat on both sides.

oh yea it was a just a creek a few years ago! just get close to the edges anchor up and throw some on the flats and some on the drops. if you can find a bend in the channel that would be ideal. good luck!
