Thats there to grease the swivle shaft to let the motor turn. Grease it with marine grade grease and you will do fine.
old evinrude question
I recently got a 1964 evinrude yahtwin 3 hp that runs great on my 12 foot jon. My question is on the shaft behind where the bracket holds it on the boat it looks like a grease fitting? if so what type? I have never noticed them on other motors, but I just checked and my other evinrude also has it.
