Any members own or have owned Okuma reels? I've never had one before but just bought one on ebay for about 1/2 what it would have cost at Cabela's. I got the Epixor EB50 baitrunner, not sure if I'll like it but will find out soon enough...lol.

i have 6 or 8 the 65's you can not find a better Spinning reel for the price to me .

I have never had 1 problem with them at all.

They are very smooth the drag is nuts and the bait feeder drag is awsome.

I was going to switch to bait cast but they dont cast far enough for me ... but everyone says you dont need to cast far if you have a boat ..... But i love my spinning reels .

I think cost on them is like 46 or 52 bucks they retail from 99.89-129.00

I was going to step up to the 80 but theres no need to in my mind they 65 holds a whole bunch of 80-100lb Tug-O-War :)

Thanks Rob, I've never tried them before, I went with the 50 mainly because I fish from a boat, it'll hold over 200 yds of 80lb braid and that should be enough. I got the reel new for 50.95 including shipping, which I thought was a pretty good buy.

I've got 1 okuma baitcasater, I think it's a stratmaster with a line counter. Other that a pair of 7000 abu's, that's the only reel I have that isn't a Shimano. For 50 bucks, I don't think I could find a better reel. A penn dosen't even compare to it.

I've never owned an Okuma Epixor, but I have 3 Okuma Avenger ABFs in assorted sizes. I have the Avenger ABF #30, the ABF #50, and the ABF #90. I use the ABF 30 on a 7' medium Ugly Stik.. The ABF 50 I use mostly for catfish and stripers on an 8' MH Ugly cat rod. I haven't used the ABF 90 much, got it on a 12' surf rod. It's a hoss. It's the same size and weight of the ABF 65 and 90, just holds much more line. I got it spooled with 30 lb test Ande mono. The spool of line ran out before the reel got full. It casts farther than anything else I ever owned, if I had gotten 20 yds more line on it, no telling how much distance I could get.

I like the Okumas so well the next spinning reel I buy will be an Okuma Avenger ABF 40. A bargain, less than $40.

You never seemed to complain about my Penn's when you were Fishing with them in my boat.
They are the best reels I ever Purchased

I have 2 of the newer Epixor EB80's , I can't think of one bad thing to say about them. I haven't had a problem yet, but I would like more drag since I use 80# braid. The new ones only come with 1 spool, the older goldish ones come with 2.

I really like Okuma, not just the products but their whole team. I was using Okuma well before I started working with them.

I know it does not catch fish, but I always thought their reels were some of the best looking out there.
Paul, I'll let you know if it catches fish..lol. I'll post up the first fish I catch with it and I'll try and make it a Hog...lmao
