Anyone had experience with these reels? They have two round reel baitcasters available (CR-250 and CR-400) with similar capacities of the Abu Garcia 6500 and 7000. Price is 60.00 to 75.00. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I have some Okuma Chromer CR-400 headed this way.

Based on the schematics, it looks solid.

    • ALC: Rigid 1-pcs anodized aluminum frame
    • Aluminum left and right side plates
    • Machined aluminum, anodized spool
    • Multi-disc Carbonite drag system
    • 2BB+1RB Stainless steel bearing drive system
    • Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing
    • Precision machine cut brass main and pinion gear
    • Adjustable 6-pin Velocity Control System
    • Non disengaging level wind system 250/400 sizes
    • Aluminum power handle with ergo grip handle knobs on 400 size
    • Aluminum twin paddle handle with oversized knobs on 250 size
    • On/Off bait clicker function on 250/400 sizes
    • Chromer reels are backed by a 1-year warranty program

They seem like a lot of reel for the money!

If they're good enough for the boss man, they're good enough for me! I'll be interested to compare these to my old Quantum Irons. Love the power of the Quantums, wish they were still making them.

The only possible objection I have now is the amount of drag force with the reels.

Will have to see them up close to get a good feel.

    Hey Gang,
Just wanted to report on these reels. I have two CR-400s matched with American Spirit Nite Sticks. They cast as well as my 6500s with similar weight and bait combinations. I haven't caught anything larger than several pounds so can't report on drag force but have been very impressed with the fit and finish.

Have you had a chance to fish these Paul?
