I'll be in OKC, May 24th and 25th visting and I would like to do some fishing. Can anybody give me some ideas on what lake and where? Any good bait shops? I won't have my boat, just be on foot.

I talked to a guy yesterday that said he fished in the Oklahoma River (small part of the North Canadian which flows through OKC) by the Pull-a-part yard. Caught 10 -12 channels that were this big....held his hand out about 20" apart. LOL Some locals do like to fish the Canadian for some reason. Most places the fish would have to lay on their backs to get their back wet. But, unfortunately, that's the best I can offer.

About 20 years ago I used to fish at the end of Rockwell Ave just south of I 40 on the River and had good luck. I know that there are cats in there.

Thunderbird is probably your best bet for the local OKC area. Try by the twin bridges...we usually kill crappie there on minnows.
