Okay, can't afford a new engine, so I got a new idea

    My neighbor up in michigan at my moms house has a pontoon boat just settin in the feild rustin away, im gonna ask um if they need me to take it off there hands, one quick question, how do I tell if the pontoons leak without actualy taking it out on the water

    The only way I am aware would be to pressurize them and put a guage on to see if the pressure drops through time.

    There should be a pipe plug screwed in to the pontoon. Remove that and screw in a pipe with a T in it. On one end of the T put a pressure guage(low pressure) on the other end put a schrader valve (tire valve). Pump a couple of pounds of pressure in there and come back and check the guage in a day or two to see if it leaked or not. Check all your fittings for leaks by spraying on some soapy water, it will bubble at the leak. 409 spray cleaner works well also.

    Dont put over 4 pounds in those toons. You'll blow the ends of them real quick with air.
