There was a disastrous oil spill near my childhood home. I lived within 10 miles of the spill and had visited this pristine brook trout stream many times. The oil spill was deliberately created by a disgruntled father and a son as a hurting his former employer, snyder brother oil drilling. the destroyed valves on six crude holding oil tanks. numbers are mounting but I recent news has the extent of the spill as 17,000 gallons of crude polluting several miles of three pristine brook trout streams. besides hundreds of fish, beavers have also died... the containment operation is enormous... there is no law on the books for what a horrible despicable thing they did and unfortunately they aren't very likely to get death row. words do not express how sad I feel about this.:sad2::sad2::sad2: I grew up along a large national forest. wildlife were my constant companions. My fishing career started early and I was a passionate trout fishermen in these waters all through my teenage years. There was constant beauty all around me and I breathed more fresh air in my first 10 yrs than hundreds of suburbanites with will ever breath. some links are included below from my hometown paper. http://www.bradfordera.com/articles/2008/08/18/news/doc48a8e520cd249558012523.txt http://www.bradfordera.com/articles/2008/08/23/news/doc48acd12245f66201144744.txt I don't know if its appropriate but I thought I grieve a little bit with my friends.
