Men I'm looking for any information on the ohio river in the Wheeling WVA area. I fish the Potomac in Maryland and Virginia mostly but will be spending some time in Wheeling soon. Any advise or tips will be appreciated. thanks.

IF YOU HAVE A BOAT TRY THIS.
the out flows of the dams, mouths of creeks, around the tied up barges, look for deep pools, log jams .
north of wheelig there are two dams.
above the first one just as you are coming into wellsburg there are alot of bages tied up on the right side of the bank . gust ahead of those there is abig creek coming in to the river, this creek is deep and a lot good spot s to check out.
furhter north of there is martinferrys on the ohio side.
watch deph finder for a spot that is forty feet deep, big cats, livebait or cut bait .
    good luck:smile2:

Try the mouth of buffalo creek in wellsburg or the tailwaters of pike island dam just north of wheeling.
