We ran two lines over the weekend. Everyone we talked to in the area had given up on fishing for the most part. They said the fishing had been poor with the receeding water level. We decided to put lines out anyway. Had absolutely no luck with cut gills (complete waste of time). We decided to bust our hump and catch a mess of live gills. Our luck changed drastically. We had a few channels, one 5lb blue, 5 flattys in the 5-8lb range, 2 blues that were in the 15-20 lb range and one flatty that weighed in right at 50 lbs. We are quickly learning that live bait is the only way to go with lines on the Ohio. We had our best luck with a line that was ran across the mouth of a feeder creek back in one of the shoots. I've attached a couple of pictures. The quality is poor as they were taken with my phone. Over all, it was a pretty exciting weekend.
