saturday morning the water was high and muddy. we fished for cats and caught several channels, we also caught 2 small flatheads. we had several runs on 8 to 10 inch drum that we used for bait, but we couldnt get a hookup. we also caught 1 carp that weighed 19lbs. one channel weighed 9 pounds.

I fish just north of there at the mouth of Fish Creek. Ive fished at the dam there in New Martinsville last year and caught a lot of snags and havent tried it since.

I would suggest trying a Gamakatsu 12/0 Big River hook when using drum for bait. The point and barb needs to be exposed as much as possible to get good hook-ups on big live baits.
