Yeah, I probably spelled Carolton wrong. lol.. I've never been to Carolton or fished the Ohio river before either, but have been wanting to go check it out. Would like to get some feedback from others who fish this area if posible. Also, I understand that the catfish in the Ohio river aren't fit to eat because of mercury levels and that sort of stuff. Is that really true? Thanks in advance.

Had the same problem at the mouth of the Licking this week. First time this year got skunked. Going to keep trying - looks like they are all out in the deep holes.

Thanks for all the replies and feedback. allflats- I've seen the Ohio River before (drove over the bridges at Louisville and Cincinatti a few times) and it looks like a MONSTER of a river! I'm afraid to take my John boat out there, so I have my bigger boat in the garage right now getting it ready. It will probably be a while before it's done.

Yea the ohio is no place for a small boat.It would be ok on the ky river. The boat ramp is right at the mouth of the ky river. Not much traffic on the ky since barges no longer go up that river.Good luck on your next trip!!
