Fished the Ohio river NEAR Pike Island dam on saturday with several of my friends and family members. The gar were terrible ........we couldnt leave a rod in the water for more then 10-15 minutes without a gar finding the bait and tearing it off the hook or killing it and shredding it up. We ended up landing two tiny flatheads about 1-2 lbs and 8 channels total all of them were between 1-3 lbs. Lots of bites and lots of small fish but hey we had fun !!! The fish were caught on live and cut creek chubs and chicken livers !!! Also caught one saugeye about 2 lbs on a creek chub !!!

Sounds like a fun night even though the size wasn't there. Makes me not so bummed I wasn't able to make it down to the dam this weekend now.
