Alright, pretty new catfish guy heading down Friday night around 10:00 to do some catfishing. Any suggestions? I have 1 oz and 3 oz sinkers I'm going to Carolina rig with a 5/0 circle hook. For bait I have some frozen cut shad and skipjack, some shrimp and chicken liver. I was going to maybe pick up some goldfish and night crawlers and if I have time, catch a couple of bluegill. What do you pros think? My biggest fish this year is 7.1 flattie. I would love to break the 10 pound mark before it gets too cold. I also haven't caught a blue cat yet.

I posted a few weeks back that i ate lunch there at the park at the mouth of licking.I sat there about 45 mins saw two guys catch about three fish not sure but i would say Channels looked like between 5to10 Lbs they where on the Covinton side i was on Newport.I havent fished there this year but years past caught some nice channels there. Also i would say the cut skips and liver is best bait down there as for bluegills i have never saw anything caught on them in the river and i have tried lol but livers and cut skipies i have caught Flatheads and Blues on in river.
