"No Shitteroooo", School is out this Friday and I'm meeting my buddy "hot welder steve" and his wife for several days of relaxing after leaving this "FREEEKING JOB" as a school teacher......I'm going to look hard at the job that I have .............and "think about retiring."

Bert ?... "speek to me"..... have I not fished enough lately? Is this a feeling that you have often? too?

Steve will be taking his his big suburban, and hauling his brothers "masterCraft", ski boat.......so you can see that we don't have much to "work with" for a fishing boat.....

We are staying at an Indian casino/RV PARK .....down river from Laughlin Nev. and our wife's will be trying some of the slots.....at the casino..while the boys will try other machines and cruise the river......one day of golf, maybe two depending on the slots' returns...........Kind of like a "vacation".

Hopefully, plumbertom can "hook up with me" and we can get some time on the water with "riverbudd" at Blythe.

My "plan of activities", will start at the Dam at Laughlin Nevada, and then and down river some 20 miles, to start again at Blythe California.

From there, I'd like to meet up with BOC Bro.....Gary, "ToFish" of Yuma, south of there another hundred miles ..........
to water "Big Freeking"....... "Flat head water" near Yuma Arizona.

So this is the plan.... after the 4th of july, say maybe the Thursday the 12th I'd head on out again down to Blythe for the weekend, and then meet up with "tofish" at lake Martinez for the middle of the next week.

If any of you brothers might be down that way, give me a "gingle". I'd be staying at Mayflower landing in the RV, with my NorthRiver boat in tow and would like to meet up with some of you again.....

Can't wait to get to Arizona, across the river from the casino..... cheeper gas over there than in Nevada.... I filled up the RV @ $3.19 a gallon and the tank will last the 300 miles to the next stop.... The next item to buy will be a three day ariz fishing license and the colorado river stamp for az and nv. Oh well, the the price that you have to pay to get out of town here in California....

Got some spots to "check out" and "sit a bit"... while on the river..... Not much of anything good for cover at the casino on the beach, but there are some summerged logs out in front from time to time... have to get on my bycycle and ride down and check it out...."You can see the swimming lagoon" from the same spot, and is a nice place away from the launch ramp where one can sit and "be quiet" and drink a brew or two.

Its Indian res, and I'd have to have another stamp/licence to fish there.....

At night I might sneek down to the river rip/rap bank and throw out a line for a bit....going to have to be with mackeral...... From the top of the levee down to the water is some 15 feet, and the water is only 3 to 10 feet deep depending on the water release up river at Davis Dam.

Have to take a long pole, and if I catch anything from the levee, I won't be able to walk down to get it with all of my "disability knees and such", so I'll give it the ole "heave ho", and bounce the catch up the bank to see what I've got, or maybe it will just break off....

    Ray,
Sounds like a great trip, with a little variety mixed in. Understand the knee problems as I have them too. Have had to drag fish up a bank as I couldn't get down to them. Is the safest way for sure. Wish you luck. Is gonna be a scorcher this weekend here in Yuma with the hottest temps so far this year so be prepared for that one teen stuff I know you are familiar with. Will be looking forward to your posts when you get back. Tight lines.

Glad your finally out for the summer. July is pretty busy for me at least the first part. I have a gathering of family and friends at a long time buddies house in G.G. for the 4th and of course the trip I mentioned on the 10th-11th.
I've a niece reaffirming her wedding vows in Laughlin June 28 which I opted not to go because of the expense.
I'm being conservative with my spending so I can do a little more fishing this summer. I want to make a 2 or 3 day tuna trip this year and
I want to go on a dedicated halibut trip also.
