hi Im new to the forum and I just wanted to share the odd catch I got while fishing for bullhead with cut fatheat minnows.
jun 14th went fishing on a pier on a lake close by my house. I go fishing there for carp all the time. but I decided to fish for bullhead. i cut up a fathead minnow and put it on my hook. I set it on the bottom and waited for a bite. in an hour later I had caught many bullheads already. then I got a hard hit. I thought I snagged a a small carp but it turned out to be... a small channel cat!!! it was very odd because no one has ever heard of any channels in that lake. pic of her. (sorry the pictures is blurry, i think there was some dust on the lens.)

Welcome to the BOC Jake. Hey now that is a nice Channel. If there is one there has to be more! Now get out there an catch a bigger one. If they are not known to be in the waters then you must hold the record for the biggest caught. Congratulations!!!! lol:big_smile::wink:

nice catch there...I too have caught many cats in places they weren't suposed to be.

has there been any flooding in your area..if so.maybe they cruzed in on high water.. thats where mine came from..

    good luck

Welcome Jake. Maybe someone caught that fish or one of his cousins somewhere else and dropped him off in your waters. It happens. Way to go....

birds like ducks ,geese unknowing pick up fish eggs in their feathers and carry them to other bodys of water. also boats and boat trailers can do the same if the water isnt completely drained, or cleaned.
