Hello everyone ! Im just curious as to how many of you use Octopus hooks for flatheads fishing live bait ?
I have tried alot of different style hooks and found them to be very effective in hook-ups compared to say circle hooks or live bait hooks.
The size I use most are 5/0 to 8/0. These seem to usually produce a hook-up right in the corner of the jaw dam near every time !
Any others thoughts on this .........anyone ?

I use Gamma octopus hooks with a snell knot. I target flatheads with large baits and 10/0 hooks. I have even been too lazy to go down to 8/0 hooks when using cut bait and caught 1lb channels on those 10/0 hooks. They are sharp lol. If you ever experience alot of misses during hooksets, try to let the fish "load" up on the rod before making your hookset. I had this happen to me when I first started using them. Now I hook up 95 percent of the time.
