I hear a whole lot of good things about nylon rope jigs and/or replacing the hooks on crankbaits and spoons with rope to catch gar. I have tried it several times but have been 100% unsuccessful in landing a gar on these lures. Any advice on techniques, lure construction, and what color rope to use would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
