I GOT THIS RECIPIE OFF THE WEB

    Ingredients:
    1 Cup of plain flour
    1 1/2 Cup's yellow plain corn meal
    1/4 Cup sugar
    1 cup of water

    but i changed it to
    1 Cup of plain flour
1 Cup's yellow plain corn meal
    1 Cup sugar

    2 Cup oatmeal
    a little water

to make it simple becasue i made the origional recipie and was :beat_brick: to relize that it was WAY TOO MUSHIE to use on a hook....( but i was geting real agressive hits on it :smile2:

just add a little bit of water while stiring in a pan on the stove to get it real gooie:eek:oooh:

add the 2 cups of oatmeal and it will thicken up infont of your eyes

i like thick baits and im going to try this this weekend....

a still think bread is the winner over all:cool2:

Those kind of baits are made to dissolve around your hook to draw in the fish, use corn pops or corn or even a small bit of bread.

Put your tough bait on the hook then put your bait from the recipe around your tougher bait and see if that doesnt work real well.

Leroy,I use almost the exact recipe as your first one,
    1C flour
    1C yellow cornmeal
    1 T garlic powder[not garlik salt]
    2 T maple syrup
    Just a little salt,maybe 1/4 t
add enough water to form a peanut butter consistancy,in a saucepan ,then heat on medium heat stirring constantly, till it forms a ball, continue till it no longer is sticky. Form into a ball and nead a little . Store in a ziplock bag in ref. for about two weeks.

If you are fishing in fairly still waters and want to draw in carp and start a feeding frenzy you can take instant grits and either add cream corn or kool-aid to it plus some water and get it to a consistency to where you can form a ball around the hook but not be too mushy and then put corn pops, corn, trix or anything of that nature on the hook before you make the dough ball. This will do what was said before and dissolve off the hook leaving the hook with pop or whatever. I know this works good in ponds but not so well with moving water. I have some friends that fish carp pay lakes and this is the technique they use. You can also do the same with trout chow or any type of sinking fish pellets on the market. Also works with oats but it is much hard to prepare.
