Went out Sunday evening and fished a couple hours before dark. Got bit about as soon as I started but the bite was slow throughout the late afternoon. I was catching a few quality channels ranging @ the 1.5-2# class. I had one very good pull down and the fish pulled drag until it wrapped underneath a stump or root and broke me off. Later on lost another about the same way. After dark the bite completely stopped so about 10PM I called it a nite. Wound up bringing home 10 or 12 channels, largest about 2 & 1/2 lbs. Threw back one white bass and one small channel.

I know these arent big fish by some of your standards but I think it's OK for being new to lake catfishing. I'm pumped and already hitched and ready to go for 5:30AM tomorrow. Wish me luck guys!

Hey you had a great trip and the sizes you caught are perfect for eating. No one catches giant monster cat's every outing. You did well.

That is a good haul. Lately, it's been hard to land more than 5 small channels. Great trip!!
