I mistakenly posted this under WI lakes instead of rivers. I am looking for places in NW WI to catfish. There are spots on the St. Croix river but have had no luck. Are there any other places to bank fish near or in Polk or Burnett County or surrounding areas?

Can you narrow it down to areas or towns? Lots of miles between Superior and Eau Claire areas.
Anywhere from west of Danbury (Thayer's Landing) to St. Croix Falls. Have fished off of Hwy 70 by Grantsburg, Soderbeck N of Hwy 70, Raspberry, and Thayer's.

I don't have any personal experience for this area, but I have some sources that list a few areas to check out. These are general recommendations and not specific locations to bank fish. You will have to do some of the leg work and check them out.
In Burnett County; Upper and Lower Clam Lakes as well as the Clam Lake Flowage. Danbury Flowage. Little Yellow Lake as well as Yellow Lake. Lone Star(Saunders) Lake. There is also the possibility of sturgeon in these waters. For Polk, you're better off following the river.
Otherwise, you just need to do some leg work and do some scouting along the border water roads. I suggest getting a DeLorme map book. I use this alot in my scouting efforts to find highways and roads close to riverways. I also use google maps in the satellite mode to actually see what the area looks like. It is easy to spot likely areas this way and then find out how to get there.

Find the clam dam. Should be in business there. Also rhe yellow river from what I heard up there. But not positive. But I worked in Danbury painting the hole in the wall casino when that was being build few years ago. Fished the clam dam. Use local cutbait. You should catch fish. Good lucl

Thank you! We hit the Clam river last night at Lynch Bridge. Caught 2 walleyes and a rock bass. We have fished at the dam of the Clam. Will definitely look into Saunders and the Yellow Lakes. I grew up in Danbury so am pretty familiar with the area just unsure where the cats may be. Thanks again and I will keep you updated.
