7am to 7pm, The Bite was on! Earlier in the week my good friend and B.O.C. Brother, Bert his brother in-law and another friend were planning a fishing trip for friday. Woke up Fri. morning about 5 am, watered the garden and headed out the door in shorts and t-shirt. By chance, I ran into Bert and his friends at the gas/baitshop. We gased up, bought a few items and headed to a spot just north of Hi. 12 that I had fished with Bert and Bobby before, Bert's "Honey Hole"! They arrived a little bit before me. Bert was dropped off at a spot where there was lots of cover and a really nice looking spot. Last week Bert had lost a fish he described as "splashed around like a full grown person" that after 4 runs and stripping line, finnaly wraped around a branch and broke off! I arrived about 7am and stopped to fish with Bert. Boy, was it cold and windy and I was in shorts, because the last 3 days have been in the upper 90's. We both caught a couple of small cats and a couple of perch. I caught mine on night crawlers and Bert cought his on "wicked sticky" which is really one of the best dip baits you can get in my opinion! You can get it at our sponsor, "Catfish Connection" After several hours of braving the wind and cold for a few small fish, Bobby called us and said the they "were killing them"! We packed up and headed half mile down the road. Bobby and friend had a nice striper caught on pile worms and a several cats in the 5 pound range that were caught on liver. Shortly after tossing my line out, I caught a nice channel in the 3 pound range on a nite crawler. Bert began nailing them one after another on "Wicked Sticky"! I switched over to dip bait as well! I was using a mix of "G.S." (Affectionately known as "Good S**t") and "premo blood" dip bait! It worked great and I hooked up with a 8 pounder, another about 5 and several more in the 3 pound range! Bobby and friend continued to nail them as well! Gas = $10 Bait =$5 Lunch = Leftovers from nite before! Great Fishing with Good People = Priceless!
