Screaminreels and me went out again yesterday 4/30. The bite was slow but we did manage a few. The blues hate me in the river so he nails them but the flats are mine so far. My 5th flathead over 40 this month. We shoulda had 5 more nice flats but due to user error the flats won.

Nice couple of Hog Flatheads. River is not very wide. Dan? Staunton?

Screamnreels and myself have NO problem chuckin out a live 1lb white perch. Sit in a spot for 40 min no hits we move on to another, quietly with the trollin motor. The Dan river is loaded.

Kenneth, the river starts out narrow and gets wider as you go up.There is plenty of room and some 10 to 18 foot holes to fish.Much rather fish during the week less tourist there to bother you, flatheads are very shy and alot of boat traffic will keep you from catching one BELIEVE ME!!

I don't fish weekends if I can help it on the James either. My catching is better when I am sharing the river with no one.
