so i went fishing at kaw point, with no luck at all.i was there for like 3 hours with out even a bite. i used fresh shad side i bought at a bait shop. but when i got to the fishing spot there was no reflective scale left on the shad sides. is that usually a problem when fishing the muddy MO? next time im gonna go catch my own since i learned to use a bait net. is shad even a good choice for the river? if so is shad gonna be better cut or alive? and how do you keep the shad alive on the hook?

Yeah shad is good bait. Every night is different some nights they like them alive some nights cut. If you are going to fish them alive I hook them in the lips. That way when you toss them out into the current there mouth is pin shut so they don't catch to much current. I find they die pretty easy though in the fast current of the Missouri though.
